If the Colorado women’s basketball team is going to achieve its goal of returning to the Sweet 16 – or going even further – it will have to get there on the road.

The 18th-ranked Buffaloes are the No. 5 seed in the Albany Regional 2 and they’ll face 12th-seeded Drake in Manhattan, Kan. Fourth-seeded Kansas State will host the sub-region and face 13th-seeded Portland. The winners will meet in the second round. Senior point guard Jaylyn Sherrod said the Buffs aim to take the positive approach about what is in front of them.Jaylyn Sherrod rose from under-recruited point guard to CU all-timer. I think that’s just kind of the mentality we’re taking into it.”
