Resale tickets to National Women's Soccer League games for the 2024 season have risen almost 50% from sales made last year and fans are willing to travel further than ever before to see their favorite teams play, according to ticket seller Vivid Seats, as investment in the sport skyrockets to new highs.The average price for regular season NWSL tickets resold on VividSeats is up 49% from last season, from an average of $51 per seat to $76, according to the online ticket marketplace.
In addition, fans are traveling 20% further to catch an in-person match, up from a game average of 179 miles to 214, Vivid Seats reported. Women's soccer is outpacing every other sport in the United States in terms of growing popularity, according to NRG's FandexThe Current are playing in every one of the top five most-expensive games scheduled, and the team's average ticket price is $208, according to Vivid Seats—more than twice as much as the next-highest team, Angel City FC, with an average price of $87.The Kansas City Current and Portland Thorns FC will play the NWSL's season opener at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.
