HMP Edinburgh's Ratho House wing previously was used an all-female wing for prisoners from the east of Scotland.
Women at a high-security prison have been shipped out to other jails and their wing used to house some of Scotland’s most dangerous sex offenders.
But prison sources said the women, including child killer Rachel Trelfa, have all been moved to Stirling, Glasgow and Dundee. The source said: “A few of the women, especially those from Edinburgh, weren’t happy at the move.
