Gov. Kay Ivey signed the “Working for Alabama” legislative package Thursday.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Affordable child care and new employment opportunities for the next generation are now possible for Alabamians.Cheers erupted in the Alabama Capitol for the bipartisan bill package, which is designed to improve participation in the state’s workforce.

Ivey says to improve that number, the state must eliminate barriers for would-be workers, like the price of child care. Additional grants and tax credits will be awarded to providers who expand their services, something lawmakers like House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels are proud of.
