World Central Kitchen officials told news outlets Tuesday that they've provided more than 50 million meals to Gaza Strip residents, but still struggle with providing food in the northern region as Israel 's war with Hamas continues.
"We may reach out to some of these organizations to see if we can donate food to the north because obviously we want to help as much as we can," said John Torpey, Middle East activation manager for WCK. "And if we have if we have the resources to do that, we'd love to be part of some of those convoys in the north."
"Jose our founder says the decision to restart feeding in Gaza was both the hardest and the simplest one we can make our mission is simple to be the first to the frontlines providing meals in response to humanitarian climate and community crisis," a spokesperson with WCK said. "For every movement, we send them all the packing lists of everything that's going in," Torpey said " t's very important for the ease of getting food in to be very transparent about what we're bringing in and giving them a heads up on what we're bringing in."
