Scheffler was detained by Louisville Metro Police Department on Friday morning while trying to drive into the entrance of Valhalla Golf Club. Traffic outside the golf course had been interrupted after a person was struck and killed by a bus early that morning.

One officer was heard telling him: ‘You need to get out of the way. There’s nothing you can do. Scottie Scheffler is going to jail.’ The start of play in the second round of the competition had been delayed following a fatal traffic accident near Valhalla.
