World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee calls on society to help stamp out state-sponsored hacking
THE inventor of the world wide web has called on the public and politicians to help stamp out online dangers.
And he highlighted several causes for concern — state-sponsored hacking, crime and harassment, clickbait and the viral spread of misinformation. Sir Tim, 63, said: “If we give up on building a better web, then the web will not have failed us — we will have failed the web.” He also called for action over the “unintended negative consequences” of the internet.
