Worries about Yankees’ Gerrit Cole continue: ‘Something is wrong’

The struggling Gerrit Cole could do a lot to quiet the noise with a dominant outing Sunday.

New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole’s third start of the season Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays will do a lot to shape the narrative about his season. Kurkjian said he’ll give Cole “several more starts” to truly panic because this time is akin to Cole’s spring training. He put his concern on a level “five” out of 10. Cole made three rehab starts during a 2 1/2-month injured list stint with elbow inflammation. Now, he’s been thrust into the Yankees’ rotation, partly out of need and partly because the Yankees would rather use Cole, even on a limited workload, in the majors.
