Multiple dead after fire at New Zealand hostel
Several people are believed to be dead after a “worst nightmare” fire at a 92-room hostel in the New Zealand capital of Wellington.
“It’s a really concerning development and obviously our thoughts will be with all the firefighters involved and all the victims of the terrible tragedy that’s unfolding,” he told NZ television. Residents are being asked to remain indoors and keep windows closed. One of the main roads into the city has been closed and traffic is being rerouted.
