According to three clothes-swapping couples, the route to domestic harmony is through a collective wardrobe - but could you do it?
Justine Simmons and Darrell VydelingumJustine, London’s deputy mayor for culture and the creative industries, says:
Each of us has our own wardrobe, and then we have shared rails. Often in the morning we will pick up the same thing, or put together a look that’s quite similar, but we never argue about it – we just think it’s funny. Over the course of my career, people have occasionally said, “You work in government, you need to start dressing in a serious way.” Of course, I’ve totally ignored that advice.
Once, we went to Bangkok and the owner of a retro store directed us to an incredible second-hand market on the outskirts of the city. There were no tourists to be found; we felt as though we’d happened upon a subculture.sunglasses – they’re a great memento from the trip. That said, we try not to buy things we’re looking at through “holiday eyes”. It has to be something we could wear back home on a cold winter’s day.
