Jordan Rodriguez was found buried in the backyard of his West 80th Street home in 2017.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Jury selection continues Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in the wrongful death trial involving the horrific abuse and death of a five-year-old developmentally disabled Cleveland boy.
Deratany said there were at least 13 cases of abuse and neglect involving Jordan that Catholic Charities and Caraballo should have known about. Investigators determined that since the couple chose not to seek medical attention, the little boy died. “Multiple fractured ribs and a fractured wrist so, you know, that’s pretty big evidence that there was abuse going on in that home,” said Deratany. “And for them not to be in the home, because I believe if they had been in that home they would have seen evidence of abuse and certainly evidence of starvation.”
Plus, investigators said Caraballo was involved in a scheme to buy food stamps from Jordan’s mother illegally.
