The past 10 months have been full of uncertainty for college sports in our state. Remember, it was only in August 2023 that the University of Washington made it official it was moving to the Big Ten. The Huskies were joined by Oregon in following in the footsteps of USC and UCLA. The Big 12 would go on to take in four Pac-12 programs, then Cal and Stanford would find a home in the Atlantic Coast Conference .It also left all sorts of uncertainty.

What if the ACC loses members with schools like Florida State publicly trying to find a way out? But it also provides nationwide exposure for the Cougs and Oregon State with CW affiliates dotting the map across the country. The craziest year in McCoy's 23 years in Pullman has passed. The future is about making sure the moves made now shore up and position Washington State University as a power player still on the larger scene.
