'You have our assurance'
Council chiefs have made a key promise to Wythenshawe residents as the huge redevelopment of the town centre moves forward. The £500m joint venture between Manchester council and developers Muse hopes to transform Wythenshawe ’s Civic Centre with a new culture hub, food hall, public square, and a play park. That will go alongside new shops and 1,750 new homes, which will include affordable properties and supported accommodation, the authority says.
” Gavin White, the Labour executive councillor for housing, replied: “The ongoing consultation is really important, local residents should be having their say. “We have talked to Muse about setting up a community living room which is a shop unit where people can come and look at the plans and have an ongoing dialogue. “This is a five to 10 year project. We want to take the community with us.
