Marvel Studios has shared a brand new X-Men '97 video for the highly-anticipated Disney+ revival of the classic animated series.
The video features executive producers Brad Winderbaum and Larry Houston explaining why X-Men ’97 isn’t a reboot of the original series, but is rather a “next day continuation” of the story. The creative team also discussed the revival’s elevated animation style, while the returning voice cast members discussed what it was like to revisit their iconic characters. It also shows some new action-packed footage from the show.
“The revival revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future,” reads the synopsis. X-Men ’97 will explore new stories in the iconic 90s timeline of the original series. It hails from head writer Beau DeMayo, along with directors Jake Castorena, Chase Conley, and Emi Yonemura. Featuring music by The Newton Brothers, the series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and DeMayo.Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
