Arsenal will be in the mix for the Premier League title once again, according to Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso
Xabi Alonso has tipped Arsenal and Liverpool to be in the Premier League title race this season. The Bayer Leverkusen boss had a first-hand taste of the Gunners' might before the season's inception when his side were trounced 4-1. Arsenal fans were treated to a footballing gala with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz all finding the back of the net before a solitary goal from Adam Hlozek added some respectability to the scoreboard for the German outfit.
Speaking to reporters after Leverkusen's friendly against Arsenal, Alonso said: 'First, talking about the game, it wasn't a good performance from our side, not happy, but I could be happy that it happened today. 'For sure it's going to be a wake-up call . This is a new season and we are starting from zero. The standards were way below our normal level. If we don't raise our standards in games of this level it's going to be impossible.
