Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer says Xbox won't be getting rid of physical media and that its strategy 'does not hinge on people moving all-digital.'

Now, Phil Spencer has said Xbox isn't getting rid of physical media and that it's not a strategic goal for Microsoft.

' Although Spencer says Microsoft is supportive of physical media, he did raise concerns surrounding console and disc drives, which could be a 'real issue' in the future. 'Gaming consoles themselves have kind of become the last consumer electronic device that has a drive,' Spencer said. 'This is a real issue, just in terms of the number of manufacturers that are actually building drives and the cost associated with those.
