The Xbox May 2023 is available to download now. Here's what's included:
The May update for Xbox consoles doesn't include any major new features, but there are still some nifty improvements here that are still nice to have.The first change Microsoft has detailed is that you'll now be able to view Xbox gamertags of your Discord friends."When your Discord account is linked to Xbox, you can join voice channels from your Discord servers directly from your Xbox console," Microsoft.
Elsewhere, you will now find new sort and filter options on the Microsoft Store both on the web and on Xbox consoles."Now there are new sort and filter options on the pages you can browse on Xbox.com and on your Xbox console that pull in price, subscriptions, supported languages, and accessibility features to find the perfect games for you," Microsoft says.
As for Xbox Game Pass members, Microsoft is"experimenting with different experiences to make Quests easier to find." Xbox Game Pass Quests are now moving from the Gaming tab to a new Rewards tab. You will also be to jump to them quickly by opening the Guide, navigating to Profile & system, selecting your profile, and then choosing My Rewards. Microsoft notes that this is coming to a random subset of users.
The May update also includes a new firmware update for Xbox controllers that includes bug fixes for"unexpected slow battery drain" for controllers with internal batteries such as the Xbox Elite Series 2, Xbox Adaptive controller and controllers with an Xbox rechargeable battery. The firmware update also includes a bug fix for controllers that disconnect in games when using headphones with 4K, 120hz, and VRR enabled.
