Police say they are trying the trace the owner of the dogs following the incident in Glasgow.
Police Scotland said the incident happened between 16:20 and 16:35 on Monday in Finnart Street, Bridgeton.Officers said inquiries were ongoing to establish the exact circumstances and to trace the owner of the dogs responsible.Last week a woman was charged after two children were hurt in a suspected XL bully attack in East Ayrshire.
And in a separate incident last month a teenage girl was reported to the procurator fiscal after an XL bully-type dog injured three people and another dog in East Kilbride.The new legislation was brought in after the breed was linked to a string of serious and sometimes fatal attacks. England and Wales announced a ban on the dogs last year, introducing restrictions from 31 December 2023 and the requirement for exemption certificates from 1 February 2024.Since 23 February, owners in Scotland must keep the dogs muzzled and on a lead in public places.BBC reporter Jordan Davies asks experts why the ban on the American XL bully dog is controversial and what impact it is likely to have.
