Nottingham Forest academy product and midfielder Ryan Yates has signed a new deal this summer and has been impressed by the club's transfer dealings
Ryan Yates has applauded Nottingham Forest for their prudent and efficient approach to the transfer window as they look to hit the ground running at the beginning of the new Premier League season. Forest have, in comparison to the last couple of summers, chosen to top up their existing group rather than make wholesale changes.
Despite the hordes of new faces through the doors of the City Ground in recent years, midfielder and boyhood fan Yates has remained a constant under Cooper and now under Nuno Espirito Santo in the heart of the Forest side. He has been pleased and impressed by how his club have conducted their transfer business, and having done the bulk of it early additions have settled in quickly ahead of the clash with Bournemouth this weekend.
"The players who have joined know exactly about the culture having come straight in. They've not taken too long to settle. With the manager's ideas, the lads already know what the manager is about, what he expects from us. Now it's time for the real stuff to start. Having a good pre-season has been really important for not just the first few games but the whole season."
"I'm delighted," he added. "There's nowhere else I wanted to be. I feel like there's a lot more to come from myself. I feel like this club is really pushing me, and has always pushed me, out of my comfort zone and I really want this club to kick on with me at the heart of it, so I'm delighted with it. It's an honour to put the shirt on, let alone the armband, and I won't take it for granted.
