In another universe, it’s possible that Kevin Costner’s Dutton-family patriarch survived until the final episode. At the same time, I can’t imagine Yellowstone’s finale playing out any differently. The ranch is secured—and the right man oversees its safety. Kayce just made the deal instead of his father. If you ask me, that’s even more poetic.

When Jamie returns home, Beth is waiting for him with a crowbar and bear spray. She bashes him in the head twice with the crowbar and then unleashes the mace on his face. If this wasn’t TV, Beth’s onslaught probably would have been enough to finish him off right there.
