The YMCA of Alaska says Girdwood has expressed its need for a recreation center for the past decade.The need for a recreational center is one that resident Alex Cronquist says she would like to see come to the ski resort town.
Alaska’s News Source reached out to several Girdwood businesses this month to gain input on how they felt about the new infrastructure plans, but is still waiting to hear back from several locations. Others declined when asked for comment. “We’re really looking forward to meeting with the Girdwood community and really dialing in the needs so that we can we can start moving toward finalizing things like design and stuff like that,” Nate Root, with the YMCA of Alaska, said.
