The York Emporium owner is retiring after nearly 20 years of service, but the story of the business continues under new ownership.
“So, we get in here, we buy our pile of books and Gary who was the owner at the time, we brought the books up to the counter and we told him the story, and he looks at me and said, ‘well if you’re interested, let’s talk’,” Lewin explained.At 10,000 square feet and more than 500,000 books to choose from, ranging from history to comics, there’s truly something for everyone.
Lewin would often interview guest speakers, usually authors and local celebrities, during “genre days.”That’s when Scott McLaughlin entered the story.
