Met Office has issued a stark yellow weather warning
Towns and cities across Yorkshire could be without power this weekend as homeowners have been urged to prepare for power cuts following more snow forecast.
The warning encompasses Skipton, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield, Doncaster, Selby, as well as the York area, which is due to bit hit hardest. The warning will come into force from 4am on Saturday morning and finish at 9am on Sunday morning. "Whilst snow will become increasingly confined to higher elevations with time, there is the chance of a transient period of snow to low levels in some areas, with perhaps as much as 5-10 cm accumulating in places, especially the Vale of York, before turning back to rain."
