A tech-savvy member of the r/lifehacks forum shared a clever way to fix fraying wires that will leave your electronics looking brand new as users showed how they did it
There's a nifty trick for fixing frayed wire cables that can make your electronics look as good as new.
The user displayed the mouse cable issues, asking the community: "I inherited a good mouse, but the cable has a lot of spots like this, any way to get rid of them?" A member advised: "Cut the centre so it loosens the pinch point, straighten it out and wrap it with tape or something so that material doesn't fray."One contributor mentioned the solution is more of a "patch job" than a "hack", adding: "Cut fabric, heat shrink. This is not a hack, this is a patch job."
Specialised heat-shrinking sleeves, which are a safer alternative to tape, can be found easily online.
