The US president blew his top in a phone call with the Israeli PM.
President Donald Trump talks with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, before boarding Air Force One at Ben Gurion International Airport, Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, near Tel Aviv.
The Israeli military has struck Beirut twice since a ceasefire between the two countries came into force on 16 April, with the most strikes coming last Thursday. A source told Axios that Trump told Netanyahu: “You’re fucking crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass.
Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this. ” Another source said Trump was “pissed” on the phone call and at one point shouted at Netanyahu: “What the fuck are you doing? ”In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had managed to persuade Netanyahu to stop the bombing.
He said: “I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his Troops around. Thank you Bibi!
“I also had a conversation with Representatives of the Leaders of Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel, and its soldiers. Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let’s see how long that lasts — Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY! ”, the podcast that makes politics easy.
