A washing machine expert has revealed a common mistake that many make when washing their towels, which can leave them still dirty and even risk damaging the machine
Towels used for drying after showers are notorious for absorbing copious amounts of water, leaving them damp for hours on end and creating a haven for germs.Experts generally advocate washing towels after three uses; however, research by Showers to You suggests nearly two million Brits only wash their towels annually. Nonetheless, towel cleanliness isn't solely determined by washing frequency.
Furthermore, when washing towels, use less detergent than for clothes, saying: "Towels will always over-sud. With sheets, towels, always put less detergent".
