David McKenna will star alongside Ciarán Hinds, Daniel Craig, Meryl Streep and other huge stars in the C.S Lewis classic
After his impressive screen debut as Piggy in Lord of the Flies, Belfast schoolboy David McKenna is set to lead a new C.S Lewis adaptation for Netflix .
Academy Award–nominated filmmaker Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew is an epic adventure that will release in cinemas on February 12, 2027, and on Netflix on April 2, 2027. David will star as Digory Kirke in the first-ever screen adaptation of the C.S Lewis tale alongside Ciarán Hinds , Beatrice Campbell, Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan with Daniel Craig, Meryl Streep and other huge stars.
Written for the screen and directed by Gerwig, it is the origin story for Narnia, which was published May 2, 1955 and celebrated its 71st anniversary this month. Speaking to Netflix, Greta Gerwig said Lewis’ book series captured her imagination from a very young age, and she’s beyond thrilled to bring her singular vision to this beloved world.
'Working with Netflix to bring this film to life has been extraordinary and IMAX continues to be an incredible partner. I cannot wait for people to see the film in theaters on February 12 and on Netflix on April 2,' she said.
