Kirton Lindsey mourns the loss of a young life. When will road safety improve? 🌹🚧
Residents, councillors, and a local MP are rallying for enhanced road safety measures following the heart-wrenching death of an eight-year-old boy near Kirton Lindsey.
In response to these alarming statistics, the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership recently installed two reactive ‘give way’ signs on the junction's offside approaches. “If change can be made to stop accidents happening there then we should try to do that. I know many people who dislike that junction and find it unsafe.“Something has failed at this junction multiple times. There is a reason that there have been so many accidents. Kirton Lindsey is a lovely community and many people want to help make a positive change.”Councillor Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire council, said: “This is a terrible, terrible tragedy.
Councillor Richard Davies, executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, added: “This was a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time. “The threat to life and limb is unacceptable and urgent action can prevent unnecessary deaths, accidents, and near-misses.”
