Brazilian joins watfordfc but unclear if signed or loaned
Young Brazilian winger Matheus Martins has been confirmed as joining Watford, but whether he has been signed by the club or is joining on loan remains unclear.
However, I understand that exactly who has signed him will not be fully certain until he is registered in January, as it could be that Watford sign the player instead – the ownership links between Watford and Udinese clearly mean either is possible.Indeed, the club's own official announcement is vague, only confirming the"forthcoming signature" and not mentioning if it is a permanent or loan deal.
Martins has made 57 appearances and scored eight goals in the Campeonato Serie A for Brazilian side Fluminense, a club that has been an excellent source of talent for Watford, who signed both Joao Pedro and Richarlison from there.
