Following a procedure to stop the inflammation, Martin's condition worsened and everyone was told to prepare for the worst, the Manchester Evening News reports. Gathering at Martin's bedside were his mum Lyndsey Cheshire, 44, and siblings Aaron, 23, Chelsey, 19, and Nathan, 13, after the family decided to switch off his life support. In a vegetative state, Martin could engage with his eyes by winking and could even kiss his girlfriend, 27-year-old Jess Turner.
He was placed into an induced coma on July 14, 2023, as a result. "His body absolutely rejected the new plasma and over the next two days, he was critical," Jason revealed. Jason said: "I’m going to be constantly looking for something that clicks with him and as soon as I find something that makes him happy, I’ll just keep on doing it."
