He plans to create up to 50 new jobs at the restaurant in Castle Bridge Road
A 30-year-old entrepreneur, who was once a pharmacist, has become England’s youngest McDonald’s franchisee - and to coin the fast food giant's famous phrase "he's lovin' it." Chirag Pandya, who owns CJP Group Operations, has taken over the burger restaurant in Castle Bridge Road, Nottingham, after completing a franchise training program earlier this year.
But now he's gone from prescriptions and medication to Big Macs and fries. He said: "I have always wanted to go into business. During Covid, I had plenty of time to think, so I thought I would give franchising a go. I went to a couple of franchising exhibitions. I applied to McDonald's and I was successful."
And one day he hopes to expand the franchise. "I don't want to run before I can walk but that is the aim and the ambition. I'm currently the youngest McDonald's franchisee in England - it's a nice accolade to have and I'm very proud of it. I'm looking to make a big splash as I continue to grow, invest and train but fundamentally I want to make sure I'm building on a rock solid foundation.
In the future, he hopes to refurbish the 150-seater space to give it a more modern look. Given his past employment in the health sector, how does he feel about operating a fast food restaurant? Chirag said: "Everything is about balance. We have a great variety on our menus. Our coffee campaign going on at the moment is one of the biggest across the UK - it's one of the best tasting coffees I've had.
