But Yousaf has pointed to the example of a narrow Tory by-election win in Boris Johnson's old seat as proof that an SNP upset could force a rethink from Starmer.
"And unbelievably, he will keep the cruelest Tory welfare policies - many of which, like the two-child cap, mainly affect working families who are struggling in the UK’s low-wage Brexit-based economy.
