A vlogger said he had discovered a 'soft-core paedophile ring' exchanging links to child pornography in video comment sections.
In a statement on its Creator Blog, YouTube said it was taking"important steps" which are"critical for keeping young people safe", and would continue to identify videos at risk.
YouTube added that a"small number of creators" would be able to keep the comments on but would need to actively monitor and show they were at"low risk of predatory behaviour". An investigation in The Times found predators left lewd comments and tried to encourage the children posting the videos to take part in private discussions through online forums.
