Ben Potter, a.k.a. YouTube star Comicstorian, died June 8 after sustaining injuries in a single-vehicle car crash.
, the 40-year-old internet star was killed in a single-vehicle car crash on Saturday, June 8. In a statement shared with, the Colorado State Patrol revealed that the incident occurred at 9:19 a.m. on I-25 near Fort Collins.
“The Windsor resident was southbound on I-25 at milepost 267.5 when his silver Toyota 4Runner traveled off the right shoulder of the interstate,” the release explained. “He continued to cross over the frontage road paralleling the interstate before rolling his vehicle multiple times.”Potter was the only occupant of the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved, CSP stated.
A YouTube content creator who started his channel in 2014, Potter amassed a massive following with his dramatic comic book readings. He created longform audio dramas featuring characters from the DC and Marvel universe, releasing nearly 4,000 videos in his decade on the website and accruing over 3 million followers.“His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn't want it to end like this,” she wrote.
She continued, “The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.
