Southampton sign Japan defender Yukinari Sugawara from AZ Alkmaar on a four-year contract.
Sugawara is Saints boss Russell Martin's seventh signing of the summer and the club's fifth defensive addition.
"He arrives at a good age with a lot of games already under his belt at a high level, including a wealth of European experience," Martin said. Sugawara began his career in the J-League with Nagoya Grampus before moving to AZ in June 2019, initially on loan.
