Zack Snyder Addresses New Superman Costume For DC's Reboot
Summary Justice League director Zack Snyder gives his thoughts on the new Superman movie costume for James Gunn's DC Universe. 2023 brought an end to the DCEU timeline, paving the way for the new DC Universe franchise to come to life, which will start with Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters." The first film that will be coming out of the DC Universe slate is Gunn's Superman movie, which will set the foundation for the new franchise.
I’m gonna say that: let’s see it in the movie. I’m interested to see how it works, you know, as a piece of storytelling. Yeah. But I am excited. I’m excited to see it. 11 Why Snyder's Storytelling Comment Is So Important Close Snyder makes a valid point about the importance of the Superman costume in the larger context of the story. In Man of Steel, there was a very charged tone as part of Snyder's vision for the Kryptonian culture, as Cavill's Clark Kent got his uniform through his heritage rather than having Martha Kent make it, which is the case in a lot of adaptations.
With Gunn's Superman having finished principal photography, time will tell when the first trailer will roll out. It will likely not be for another couple of months as they are in the post-production stage, which includes a lot of VFX work that comes with this film. Hopefully, at the very least, the first Superman trailer will be released before 2024 is over.
