Zendaya’s Surreal Heels Are a Smash Hit

The Challengers star wore a pair of tennis-inspired stilettos.

Zendaya’s Challengers press tour is continuing on—and so are her high-fashion serves. All month long, the actor has been using the red carpet as an opportunity to perfect method dressing: All of her sporty-chic outfits have nodded to the film’s tennis focus. This was certainly the case for her latest photo call in Rome today. The star wore a custom Loewe dress that featured a deep-V and a pleated mini skirt, which was very reminiscent of the outfits that tennis pros actually wear on the court.

Custom-designed by Loewe, Zendaya wore a pair of pointed white pumps; They featured pin-thin heels, each one puncturing a tennis ball. Talk about a smash hit—the cheeky shoes were the perfect whimsical touch for the look. It’s not the first time Loewe has delivered shoes with a sense of humor. Some of their past heels have featured nail polish bottles, makeup brushes, roses, and even broken eggs. The tennis touch, however, was perfect for Zendaya.
