He may have left Manchester United in 2018 but Zlatan Ibrahimovic has proven where his loyalties remain prior to AC Milan's victory over Manchester City
Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent a cheeky dig to the Manchester City fanbase ahead of AC Milan's pre-season victory over Pep Guardiola's side at New York's Yankee Stadium.
The Swedish legend joined the Reds from PSG in 2016 and despite his spell in the Premier League only lasting two years, Ibrahimovic managed to win over the United fans with his performances. He would make 53 appearances for the club scoring a respectable 29 goals before moving on to LA Galaxy and eventually AC Milan pre-retirement.
After hanging up his boots last summer, Ibrahimovic returned to the San Siro in December as a senior advisor to the club's new owners RedBird Capital Partners. In this role, the Swede has undertaken an ambassadorial role for the club and he was in the 'Big Apple' overnight for Milan's clash with City.Hoping to get the inside track on the opposition for their coverage on Man City TV, Ibrahimovic was invited on for an interview.
This was met with a laugh from the host as well as pundits Shaun Wright-Phillips and Joleon Lescott as the former winger insisted that 'loads of people' were watching the stream back in the UK. Ibrahimovic was likely to be still smiling once the full-time whistle was blown at the Yankee Stadium after a 3-2 victory for Milan.
Despite Erling Haaland giving City the lead, a quickfire double from Lorenzo Colombo gave the Italians the advantage at the break. Ten minutes after the interval James McAtee equalised for the Blues but Marco Nasti's goal just over ten minutes before the full-time whistle secured victory for AC.
