Woody Cook has made a heartfelt tribute to his 'wonderful' grandma Julia, saying goodbye to her after Zoe Ball announced the news of her mum's passing from pancreatic cancer
Woody Cook has paid tribute to his "wonderful" grandma in an emotional tribute shared after she passed away from pancreatic cancer. BBC Radio 2 star Zoe Ball told fans the heartbreaking news of her mother Julia's death early on Wednesday morning after her short battle with cancer, and Zoe's son Woody has also shared his own goodbye to his beloved grandmother.
Woody also referred to Julia's late husband Rick Peckham who died in 2013, adding: "I know you’re with Rick now, give him a hug from me. "I know he said once when you were panicking in a helicopter over the Jungle 'If you get lost, follow the river!' You’ll find him at the end x" Zoe had shared an old photograph of her mum as a young woman, writing: "Sleep tight dear Mama. Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy. And how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.
She was inundated with messages of support as Tamzin Outhwaite wrote: "So sorry Zoe. Your mum sounds beautiful… What a credit to her you are", while author and BBC Radio 4 presenter Richard Coles commented: "Prayers assured, Zoe."
