Nick Turnbull had earlier admitted driving a police car while under the influence of alcohol.
A former Police Community Support Officer who was convicted of drink driving has been barred from working with the police in future.
A panel ruled that Nick Turnbull's actions amounted to gross misconduct and that he would have been dismissed if he had not already resigned. He admitted driving a Wiltshire Police car in Salisbury in March while under the influence of alcohol.His actions were reported by other officers and he was suspended from the force, before resigning.Det Insp Adam Leakey said: "Clearly, the actions of Mr Turnbull fly in the face of the standards the public rightly expect from us."He will never be able to pursue a career in policing again.
