The Queens Arms pub on Admiral Street in South Liverpool is set to reopen its doors after a significant investment of nearly £265,000. The refurbishment, undertaken by new proprietors Leah and Anthony Evans, has transformed the pub into a modern and inviting space for the local community. Both Leah and Anthony come from a hospitality background and are committed to making The Queens Arms a thriving hub.

The Queens Arms on Admiral Street is set to reopen following an investment of nearly £265,000. The South Liverpool pub is under the ownership of sibling proprietors Leah and Anthony Evans . The pair were raised in the hospitality industry and have years of experience running bars, hotels and cafés across the UK and Greece. When the pub became available in May, they took it over to ensure the venue would flourish for years to come.

As part of the refurbishment, The Queens Arms has undergone a drastic transformation, including new lighting, signage and windows, to enhance the exterior of the pub. The pub also boasts a beer garden seating up to approximately 50 people and will have new furniture, a wooden pergola fitted with heaters and an outdoor television screen. Inside, The Queens Arms has received a traditional pub-style carpet, wooden furniture, and five new televisions to broadcast live sport. There is also a virtual dartboard which allows customers to play remotely against anyone across the country. Leah Evans said: “I am absolutely delighted that Anthony and I have been able to take over The Queens Arms together and that it is receiving such a fantastic refurbishment from Proper Pubs. It’s already looking amazing and I can’t wait to reveal its new look. 'This pub is incredibly special to both me and family, but also to the entire local community, so I am really looking forward to reopening, showing off all that we have to offer and getting back behind the bar to serve our wonderful customers for years to come.' Leah is keen to continue fundraising for a range of causes close to the residents’ hearts - most recently supporting the funeral costs of a local who sadly passed away. She will look to collecting food to donate to the local foodbank and raising money to have a defibrillator installed at the pub. Matthew Gurney, operations director for Proper Pubs, said: 'It’s a real pleasure to have Leah, Anthony, and their extended family, on the team at The Queens Arms. As locals themselves, they bring such unique and valuable insights to the pub which will allow them to continue building on their already thriving social hub. 'On behalf of myself and the whole Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish our operators, Leah and Anthony, the very best of luck for the future – I look forward to seeing all that’s to come!” The pub is set to reopen at 7pm on Friday, February 14. To mark the occasion, a complimentary prosecco reception and buffet will be available for local residents
