A popular open farm has said it is 'heartbroken'' after losing one of its dogs following a 'terrible accident'. Streamvale Open Farm, located on Ballyhanwood Road , Dundonald, said it is 'devastated' after the death of beloved collie Pip .
The farm described Pip as 'the most incredible dog' who they will 'miss every single day'. A statement from Streamvale Farm posted on Facebook on Monday morning said: 'We are devastated to tell you all that we lost our beloved Pip last night. 'Unfortunately, after a terrible accident on the farm, she was rushed to the emergency vet. Sadly, nothing could be done and the vet made the decision to put her to sleep. 'We are all heartbroken. She was the most incredible dog and will be remembered for her amazing sheepdog shows. 'She loved nothing more than to work. Whether it was rounding up the sheep, or getting the chickens & ducks into bed at the end of the day. Then finishing the day with a big cuddle with the team! 'She is going to be deeply missed by us all. We hope you are somewhere doing what you love the most, our favourite girl. We will miss you every single day.' The many visitors who encountered the beloved dog over the years have paid their own personal tributes to Pip. One wrote: 'My kids had the most special time with Pip at the sand pit a few weeks ago, she was so gentle bringing the ball to play. We all had so much fun with her it was pouring with rain and we just played and got soaked and everyone was so happy. I’m sure she has gave so many families so many moments like that. 'Incredibly sorry for your loss and for your little ones who knew Pip as their pet and not just the dog at the farm.' Another shared: 'So heartbreaking to hear about the loss of your beloved Pip. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. She was an incredible sheepdog and her memory will live on through all the amazing shows she was a part of. I can only imagine how much she loved working on the farm, rounding up the sheep and getting the chickens and ducks to bed. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.'
