An upcoming British sports drama from producer 50 Cent is shaping up to be a must-watch new series for fans of Power
Power producer Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson’s upcoming boxing drama Fightland is confirmed to be coming to Sky later this year. Produced in collaboration with Starz, the series follows a disgraced boxing champion who returns to London after a stint behind bars to take his revenge against the crime family he believes betrayed him.
The highly anticipated new drama set in the high-stakes world of British boxing promises a “gripping story of redemption, betrayal, and brutal ambition in and out of the ring”. Howard Charles leads the drama as Maduka ‘Duke’ Kilroy alongside a stellar cast that also includes Nicholas Pinnock as his nemesis, Jamaican kingpin Kingsley Marshall, who is at the centre of London’s boxing and gambling rings. Further cast includes Deborah Ayorinde as Kingsley’s ambitious wife Joy and Charles Babalola as his chaotic son, Ezekiel ‘Zeek’ Marshall. Anita-Joy Uwajeh plays Kingsley’s resourceful and business-savvy daughter Cebella ‘Cece’, while Tahirah Sharif portrays Kim Harper, a ring card girl who takes a liking to Duke when he returns to the city. Finally, Tyler Conti is Justin ‘Jay’ Hall, Duke’s best friend who has been down on his luck since his imprisonment, and Richard Pepple will be Duke’s estranged father Gary ‘Gazzer’ Kilroy, who runs an amateur boxing gym in Streatham. Fightland is shaping up to be a must-watch crime drama as 50 Cent is joined by several key behind-the-scenes players from the Power universe collaborating on this new British project. Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr will also serve as showrunners and executive producers after collaborating with the hip-hop icon on both Power and BMF.
