Belfast rock bandVandal ’have announced their biggest gig yet at The Deer’s Head on the 22nd March.

McLarnon wrote the song in memory of his friend who he lost to suicide, and the 22 year old beautifully translated his loss into a song brimming with emotion and poignancy. “I started writing the song on my dad’s acoustic. It’s one of those songs that didn’t exactly come by accident, I wasn’t feeling any particular way when writing it but I knew what type of song I wanted to write prior.”

Both Gerard and Andrew come from families who were involved in music, and their influence is clear to see with the band sounding mature beyond their years. Being from Northern Ireland also has its influences on their songwriting, and Andrew detailed how Vandal takes inspiration from past Irish legends.
