The setup process was remarkably quick, completed in approximately five minutes with Albie’s assistance. One of the most notable features of the Hornit Hero 24' is its exceptional lightness, making it easy to transport and manoeuvre. The front wheel is easily removable for added convenience.
Compared to other lightweight bikes like Squish, the Hornit Hero felt even lighter for its size. It’s designed for children with an inside leg measurement of 63-78cm, generally suitable for ages 6-10, though Hornit recommends adding 2-3cm to the minimum measurement for less confident riders. Climbing hills was manageable, and Albie quickly adapted to the larger bike size without any loss of confidence.

The frame feels robust and durable, even when tackling rough terrain, withstanding regular use and minor falls. Maintenance appears straightforward, and the bike’s build quality is comparable to brands like Frog and Squish, while significantly outperforming more budget-friendly options like Raleigh in terms of weight and refinement.
This bike is expected to last for several years and is robust enough to be passed down to younger siblings. The packaging is environmentally conscious, utilizing mostly cardboard with minimal plastic. While the price point is higher, the build quality, lightweight design, and potential resale value justify the investment.
