Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has rejected a lucrative offer from Brazilian club Flamengo, stalling negotiations and casting doubt on his future at the Emirates. Despite being a key player for Arsenal since his arrival from Chelsea in 2023, Jorginho has struggled for regular playing time this season, leading to his desire for a fresh challenge. While Palmeiras is interested, Flamengo appeared to be the frontrunner, offering a three-year deal worth €10 million (£8.5 million). However, Jorginho is seeking a higher fee closer to €13 million (£11 million). As talks have stalled, Jorginho's immediate future remains unclear, with Arsenal exploring options for replacements.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has rejected a proposal from Flamengo , bringing negotiations to a halt. The 33-year-old has featured in 70 matches for Arsenal since his transfer from Chelsea in 2023, solidifying his position as a vital member of Mikel Arteta's squad and a respected leader in the dressing room. However, Jorginho has faced limited playing time this season, making only six Premier League starts, leading to growing frustration over his reduced role.

Arsenal extended Jorginho's contract by a year last summer, but his current deal expires at the end of the season. He is reportedly seeking a new challenge outside of the Emirates. While Palmeiras has shown interest, no formal offer has been submitted. Flamengo was considered a frontrunner for Jorginho's signature, but according to Globo Esporte, talks have stalled with the two parties far from reaching an agreement. Flamengo reportedly offered Jorginho a three-year contract worth around €10 million (£8.5 million), but the Italy international aims for a fee closer to €13 million (£11 million) over the same duration. Given the lack of progress in discussions, Jorginho hasn't even considered an early release from Arsenal this January. Although, the Gunners have not given up hope of persuading him to renew his contract, with Arteta eager for the midfielder to remain. However, Arsenal is rumored to have secured a deal for Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi as a potential replacement. Jorginho's priority is securing regular playing time ahead of Italy's 2026 World Cup campaign. Arteta, when asked about the future of Jorginho and Thomas Partey in early January, stated, 'I don't want to start to have these conversations now. I want to have these conversations much later because the focus has to be on what we have to do in the season. They can understand the intentions and then we can see what we can do. But it's two players that I am very, very happy with. They are such a value in the squad. I want to keep them as well with the right mind frame, because the most important part of the season is coming now.
