A man named Chris found a vintage painting by artist K. Beiber at a charity shop for just £2. After researching, he discovered similar works sell for up to £150, with auction prices reaching £130. He plans to resell it for around £80, making a significant profit from his bargain find.
Unearthing a bargain in a charity shop isn't always straightforward. Stumbling across a designer item or a hidden gem can be a rare occurrence, yet it remains a very real possibility.
One man recently couldn't contain his excitement after spotting a vintage painting propped up outside his local charity shop. Chris was browsing the second-hand store when he came across the artwork priced at just £2. Given the remarkably low price, he simply couldn't leave it behind and snapped it up on the spot – a decision that would prove to be a shrewd one. Posting the discovery to his nearly 6,000 TikTok followers, Chris captioned the video: 'Charity shop find...
Vintage painting for just £2.
' He explained: 'Right so I've got another charity shop find for you and it's another painting. I spotted this one outside the charity shop and it was priced at just £2. I just took a bit of a liking to it and for two quid it was worth grabbing.
' Chris revealed the painting was by artist K. Beiber, a name he was previously unfamiliar with. However, given it was an attractive piece of a decent size with 'no damage', he wasn't prepared to risk leaving it behind. Reflecting on past sales, he added: 'Now there is a previous sold for a K. Beiber painting of this size which went for £80 and people are asking for over £100 for some other artwork.
'So I reckon I'll be listing this for around about £80 so yeah not too bad, £2! ' Original oil paintings signed by the artist, believed to be American, typically fetch between £25 and £150 in the UK. Pricing varies depending on the size, subject matter and condition.
However, as of 2026, documented auction prices for the artist's work have reached the £115-£130 range. Listings for K. Beiber paintings, often marketed as vintage oil on canvas, are regularly priced between £40 and £140 on Etsy.
Meanwhile, on eBay, smaller, pre-owned or signed original oil paintings have been listed for approximately £27-£45. The artist from the latter half of the 20th century is frequently linked to mid-century 'decor-art' landscapes. While numerous paintings have been discovered in Germany, indicating the artist may have worked there, additional evidence suggests a potential Florida or Midwest, US, connection.
