A football team, Forever Ghost FC, has been set up in tribute to Tyler Fairman, a professional footballer who died following an alleged hit-and-run in Arnold, Nottinghamshire. The team will participate in the Nottingham Sunday League and plan to organize charity matches, fun days, and community events.
A football team has been created in memory of a footballer who died following an alleged hit-and-run in Arnold. Tyler Fairman was one of five people injured after a red Vauxhall Astra mounted the kerb and struck a group of people on Saturday, May 9, in Market Place, Now, in tribute to their fallen friend, Tyler's friends have set up Forever Ghost FC, based on Tyler's nickname, "Ghost", and plan to enter the Nottingham Sunday League .
Announcing their creation, Forever Ghost FC said they will be organising charity matches, fun days and community events to raise money to support Tyler's family "while bringing people together in his honour". Tyler was the father of a two-year-old boy and was expecting to become a dad again in August this year before his death.
Forest Ghost FC's announcement also contained a heartwarming tribute for the 26-year-old which said: "Tyler was a loving son, brother, partner, and an amazing dad to his two-year-old son, with another baby due in August.
"That’s exactly what we are one big family trying to get through something none of us should ever have had to face. "Football was a huge part of Tyler’s life. Some of our best memories with him were on and around the pitch, and that’s why we’ve decided to bring people together through the game he loved most.
"Forever Ghost FC is about more than football, it’s about staying connected, supporting one another, and creating a safe place where no one has to struggle alone. "We know a lot of lads find it hard to open up about how they’re feeling, especially during difficult times, and we want this team to become a brotherhood where everyone looks after each other.
" Tyler's heartbroken family paid tribute to the late footballer, they said: "There are no words now, nor will there ever be, to truly describe how broken this has left us all. Our hearts are shattered, and the world has become a much darker place without him in it.
“Tyler will always live on through his brothers and sisters, his beautiful two-year-old son, his partner and his soon-to-be-born daughter. He was an incredibly proud family man who worked hard every single day to provide for the family he loved.
"He had his whole life ahead of him, until it was cruelly ripped away in circumstances that are every parent’s worst nightmare. “He loved football, and one of his biggest dreams was to one day take his little boy to football and stand watching him from the sidelines, just as we proudly did for Tyler when he was young.
, was charged with five counts of attempted murder, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and driving without a valid licence in relation to the Market Place incident.
