Park a 'flagship for borough and vital for health and leisure'
Beacon Country Park could be improved for prams and wheelchairs - if councillors give the go-ahead for £109,000 in extra funding.
This month's meeting of the council's Policy & Resources Committee is being asked to approved using £109,000 from the community infrastructure levy. The levy is linked to the planning system and paid by land and property developers towards new enhancements to benefit the community. In late 2023, £80,000 from the previous government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund was secured by the council to deliver the proposed upgrades. The deadline for full expenditure of the allocation is the end of March 2025.
