Around 20 headless birds were found on an industrial estate in Alloa, Scotland, sparking curiosity and concern among residents. Authorities are investigating the cause of death, with avian influenza being a potential factor.
Residents in the Scottish town of Alloa were astonished to discover around 20 decapitated birds scattered across an industrial estate last week. The incident, which occurred on December 30th, involved various types of birds, including gulls, seabirds, and waders. The exact cause of the birds' deaths remains unknown. A local resident, speaking to the Alloa Advertiser, described the scene as 'macab re' and unprecedented in their seven years residing in the area.
Samples were collected by Scottish Government public health officials to test for avian influenza. A spokesperson for the Scottish Government confirmed the samples were taken as part of the Great Britain dead wild bird surveillance scheme and results are expected within two weeks. This bizarre event isn't the first time unordinary objects have fallen from the sky in Britain. Reports of frogs raining down in the 1950s, 80s, and 90s, and a silver fish deluge in Great Yarmouth in 2002, have added to the country's collection of unexplained aerial phenomena
